Council Meeting 7-22 Speech

It is a time, when everyone here tonight knows someone or has heard of someone losing their house, job or having their work hours reduced.
It is a time, when we have expended millions on a project that was risky and the full extent of those risks was never disclosed to the taxpayers.
It is a time, when the taxpayers are told the town center project is to big to fail because the politicians have taken the public trust and guaranteed millions in payments.
It is a time, of hardship for sectors of the taxpayers you council persons were elected to help.

In these times, you have judged the time opportune to use tax payer monies to sue the taxpayers.
In these times, you have consistently lowered moral and ethical standards, and constantly broken those low standards
In these times, of uncertainty, 8.5 million unemployed and the greatest recession since 1929; you have judged it appropriate to squander tax payer monies on internal partisanship.
In these times, of greater expectations for leadership and sense that the tax dollar is valued; you practice back room politics

We the taxpayers, demand better from our politicians and employees
We the taxpayers, say you should bring the community together; not fractionalize it as you have
We the taxpayers, say we do not need politicians or employees who support the Banana Republic Gestapo politics, of the actions alleged in the Rico suit
We the taxpayers, say it is time to put aside the politics of pettiness and vindictiveness

Courage can be defined by: the actions of ordinary people who act extraordinarily in the face of adversity, thank you Mr. Carson
Character can be defined by; actions in response to small everyday events, the lack of character can be defined by the smallness of the actions, thank you Mr Shortway, Katz, Ursin and Ms Seufert
Politics is the art of compromise and leadership, thank you Ms Rinker
Honesty is in transparency, Goodness is in trust and we the taxpayers have given you our trust, and demand honesty from you
